“Peace, be still.” — Mark 4:39

"Still" can mean motionless. But it can also mean remaining.

​

I am still here.
I still love you.
I still believe.
He is still God.

​

The storm in the gospel of Mark was defined by movement—wind, waves, panic, a boat being thrown around. But Christ was still in another sense too: unchanged by it.

​

So “Peace, be still” can carry a beautiful reminder:

The storm may change everything around you without changing what is still true.

​

God is still there.
You are still held.
His promises are still His promises.

And the same Jesus who stilled the storm is still with you in yours.
