About the Artist
I haven't always painted. In fact, I only began painting after experiencing a significant loss in my life. In 2019, my son passed away unexpectedly a month before his fifth birthday. Among the many things I grieved over was knowing that I would never take another photo of my sweet, beautiful boy. At every opportunity, I absentmindedly sketched my son as best I could, often portraying him in his heavenly home or walking hand-in-hand with Jesus.
Later I discovered custom paint-by-number painting, which helped me establish my eye for value and tone, and gave me the confidence to try to paint my son "from scratch". I learned to translate emotion into color, movement, and light. Every piece I create is rooted in that journey- of grieving, restoring, loving and losing, and finding light in the embers of loss.
I'm especially drawn to themes of motherhood, heaven, Jesus Christ, and especially the relationship and love He has for all of us. My work centers on healing through art because I truly believe art can hold things we don't have words for. It can lift, comfort, remind, and reconnect us to hope.
Whether you're here to explore, to find a piece that resonates, or simply to experience a moment of stillness, my hope is that you find comfort and peace in my work.
