About the Artist

My
Journey

Art has always been a significant part of my life in various forms. As a child when I experienced "big feelings," I drew pictures of how I felt, as I didn't have all the right words to convey the enormity of what I was feeling. As a teen I developed a love for photography. Family and wedding photography was a part time paid hobby of mine for many years. In 2013 I married a wonderful man and began to have babies in regular succession: 2014, 2016, then finally in 2018. Photographing my kids as they grew before my eyes was one of my greatest joys.

In 2019, my oldest son passed away unexpectedly a month before his fifth birthday. Among the many things I grieved over was knowing that I would never take another photo of my sweet, beautiful boy. Every moment I found myself with a pencil and paper in hand, I absentmindedly sketched my son in various ways, often portraying him in his heavenly home or walking hand-in-hand with Jesus.

Later I would discover custom paint-by-number painting. I uploaded photos of my son and received a canvas, brushes, and paints with everything I needed to re-create my son's pictures in paint form. This helped me establish my eye for value and tone, and gave me the confidence to try to paint my son "from scratch".

I learned to translate emotion into color, movement, and light. Every piece I create is rooted in that journey—of learning, unlearning, grieving, restoring, and growing.

I’m especially drawn to themes of motherhood, heaven, Jesus Christ, and the quiet spaces where joy and struggle coexist. My work centers on healing through art because I truly believe art can hold things we don’t have words for. It can lift, comfort, remind, and reconnect us to hope. My paintings are meant to feel like a deep breath—gentle, human, honest.

Whether you’re here to explore, to find a piece that resonates, or simply to experience a moment of stillness, I’m grateful you’re sharing this space with me.
